How to balance professional life and parenting through digital. How times have changed. Legally you have more rights when it comes to maternity leave, as well as your partner which is brilliant! You dont have to choose between the precious early years of your child or living comfortably. You can now do both (hooray!) Sometimes it is difficult to manage home life and professional life. Perhaps, you are a single parent, cant afford childcare or you want to start up a business.  This week we wanted to provide you with some tips on how to pursue your career as a Stay-at-home mum/dad whilst earning money.  The best of both worlds! Freelance Are you a creative writer? Good with marketing? Do you have creative skills? Well, Freelancing could be perfect for you. Whether its a weekly blog post you are writing, promoting a brand through social media, recruiting or simply editing wedding videos, you can do this from home. What better way to balance  your personal life and your professional life than doing it from the comfort of your  own  home when it suits you. You can take breaks in between work to play with your baby, go sit in the garden, draw  or even tackle that mountain of washing up whatever you want. Thats the beauty of it, the freedom is yours (to an extent!) Scheduling software, this is a great aspect of modern day technology. We do not have to post everything there and then. We can complete it at 6 am and schedule it to go live at 11 pm at night.  So even if you were on holiday,  you could still be posting a weekly blog post.  Scheduling makes it easier to keep social media profiles frequently active and to make sure you are reaching the right audiences, at the right times. Become an Entrepreneur Whether its pottery, cuff-links, beauty products or whatever start your own business. You dont have to have a huge business plan and lots of investors, it could be eBay, Amazon or Etsy. Making £50 a week for a bit of extra cash or £800 a week. It might be the best thing you ever decided to do, give it a go. Part-time Perhaps you want to go back to work sooner than you planned or you just need more time to adjust to parent life, request to go part-time. This way you are earning money whilst spending valuable time with your child. You can remain organised and feel guilt-free  whilst still be having time to gradually adjust back into working life. Work from home Some people are lucky enough to be able to request this, some can not. Obviously, it helps if your work is digital. If you can work from home you need to bare in mind that you actually need to do work, its not an easy way of getting out of it.
